Human Horizons Takes the Lead in the Layout of 5G + Beidou High-precision Positioning
Recently, at the 5G Innovation and Development Cooperation Conference in Xiong’an, China Unicom and Huada Beidou have joined forces to establish the Beidou High-precision Positioning Open Laboratory. Institutions and universities will come together to build a cooperative ecosystem based on 5G and Beidou, integrate innovation, and work together to promote the application of 5G+ Beidou's High-precision positioning in related industries. More than 20 companies and universities, including Human Horizons, Baidu, Huawei and Tsinghua University, have become the first round of partners.
5G and Beidou Satellite Navigation System are important projects and key objectives put forward by the 13th Five-Year Plan of China, and they are also an important part of the National Ground-Space Integration strategy. Beidou is China's global, high-precision space-time benchmark. Through the Beidou CORS Station, it can provide precise positioning services down to the centimeter. 5G wireless network has the characteristics of high speed, large capacity, low latency and high reliability, which provides support for high-precision distance measurement. At the same time, large-scale antenna technology is introduced into base station to provide the basis for high-precision angle measurement. In addition, 5G adopts an ultra-dense network architecture, and user signals can be received by multiple base stations at the same time, which will be conducive to multi-base station cooperation to achieve high-precision positioning.
