The 2023 International Green Zero-Carbon Festival and ESG Summit, a carbon neutrality and ESG event, was held on 15 June. Innovative technology company, HiPhi of Human Horizons, received the Carbon Neutrality Outstanding Award for its integrated high-pressure die-cast (HPDC) rear cockpit which will be applied to HiPhi's third model, the HiPhi Y, a luxury technology SUV. After winning two major awards at the Zero Carbon Festival last year, HiPhi has once again demonstrated its commitment to the sustainable concept with its advanced technology in the field of high-end new energy vehicles.
HiPhi’s Award-winning Integrated HPDC Rear Cockpit Forms Low-carbon Growth
The integrated oversized die-cast body rear cockpit combines multiple advantages such as multi-part integration, light weight and recyclability, which is an innovative technology to enhance production efficiency and optimize assembly process.
The integrated HPDC rear cockpit is the first integrated oversized die-cast rear cockpit developed on a 7,200-tonne giant die-casting machine in China. By using non-heat-treatable materials and high-pressure die-casting, the rear compartment achieved a 20% weight reduction, resulting in lightweighting, reduced energy consumption and increased vehicle range. It also ensures that the vehicle achieves a higher level of crash and other performance.
Led by Green Technology, HiPhi Drives the Iteration of Low-carbon Technology with Innovation
As an innovative technology company focusing on the future mobility experience, since its establishment in 2017, HiPhi has insisted on independent innovation to achieve full-stack in-house development of core technologies and build an advanced intelligent vehicle platform from scratch. For instance, HiPhi strives for lightweight technology, and evolves by tailoring the styling, materials and design according to different styling and product positioning.
Followed by two awards at the 2022 International Green Zero-Carbon Festival, the company was awarded again. From the integrated vehicle-road-city system solution, to the world's first silicon leather applied to the vehicle, to the integrated HPDC rear cockpit, HiPhi's continuous iteration and innovation of low-carbon technology has been recognized by various professional fields.
In addition, HiPhi is actively collaborating with global innovation to advance new technologies toward the goals of achieving peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality. Since 2018, HiPhi has been working with Covestro, a leading German polymer materials manufacturer, to jointly develop the marbled recyclable carbon fiber applied to interior trim, which was unveiled at the 2022 China International Import Expo. The material reduces weight by over 30% compared to aluminum, which is lightweight and high in strength. It is ripe for green recycling.
At the ESG Summit, Gao Zhongbao, head of HiPhi Low-carbon Committee and a materials expert, delivered a speech with the theme of "HiPhi Drives Low Carbon Technology Iteration with Technological Innovation", introducing the forward-looking layout and first application of HiPhi's low carbon green technology.
With humanized intelligence as the basis for technology exploration, HiPhi continuously implements innovative technologies in its X, Y and Z models. It is reported that HiPhi's integrated HPDC rear cockpit technology will be applied to the third model, HiPhi Y, a technology luxury SUV. This model follows in the footsteps of HiPhi's design concept of technology and luxury. The second generation of NT intelligent wing doors employs the integrated HPDC process, making the HiPhi Y a "convertible spaceship" with a unique and intelligent entry and exit experience.
