Michelin High Performance Quiet Tires

Electric vehicles, characterized by high instantaneous torque and considerable weight, pose heightened and more refined demands on tire durability, noise control, overall vehicle range, and handling. To address this challenge, Human Horizons' HiPhi, committed to integrating technology and luxury, has teamed up with Michelin, one of the three giants in the global tire industry, to design high-performance quiet tires with a large outer diameter for its models.

As early as 2021, Michelin installed its then globally first-launched Pilot Sport EV (PS EV) high-performance low-rolling-resistance quiet tires on HiPhi's ultra-luxury intelligent electric vehicle, the HiPhi X. These were the largest specification tires used in mass-produced electric vehicles at the time, measuring 255/45R22 in size, with a tire diameter of 789 millimeters. During testing, the tire went through multiple rounds of tuning, performing excellently in terms of handling, comfort, NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness), grip, impact resistance, and other comprehensive characteristics. Particularly remarkable were its low rolling resistance and energy consumption reduction, bringing ultimate driving pleasure and comfort to drivers.

In terms of tire grading, according to the U.T.Q.G (Uniform Tire Quality Grading) index stipulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation, the U.T.Q.G indices of the tires Michelin crafted for HiPhi X are: Tread wear 220, Traction A, Temperature A. This implies: with a wear of 100 corresponding to a distance of 48,000 kilometers, a wear of 220 is equivalent to a minimum distance of 105,600 kilometers (48,000 * 2.2). The tire's braking performance on wet straight experimental road surfaces has reached an A level. The tire's heat index has also achieved an A level, indicating a lower susceptibility to aging and bursting, and hence a very high safety factor.

The strengths of the HiPhi X tire can be summarized as: HiPhi X adopts the latest generation of sport SUV-specific tire tread patterns, combined with a rigid asymmetric tread pattern formula, greatly enhancing the grip on both dry and wet roads. On the other hand, Michelin's Acoustic noise reduction technology, large amounts of sound-absorbing cotton used inside the tire effectively reduce the cavity noise and road noise of the tire. Finally, the tire's service life is extended by approximately 20% through the optimization of tread patterns. Additionally, the adoption of a high-density double-layer casing makes the tire sturdier and more resistant to impact. The tire edge perfectly wraps the wheel hub, avoiding wheel hub damage during minor side scratches.

A good horse deserves a good saddle; the importance of tires to a vehicle is undeniable. HiPhi adopts Michelin's world premiere high-performance quiet tires, which stand out with their exceptional durability, grip, handling, and safety. They offer a comfortable daily driving experience, can confidently face the stringent challenges of the race track, and aid HiPhi in bringing a new travel experience integrating technology and luxury to its users.
